While I have become quite practiced at this I can see how this contributes to loneliness. I would say it is also very helpful to find companions on the path, to help us when we get scared. For me this is part of interdependence -- giving and receiving support in our journeys, which in some ways are individual and in some ways are all part of the collective journey.
